  1. ‘World Tuna Day’ is observed  globally on 2 May every year. This day is established by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness about the importance of Tuna fish.
  2. ‘World Laughter Day’ is celebrated on the first Sunday of every May to remind people to laugh and make those around them laugh. This year the day is celebrated on 1May.
  3. Maharashtra and Gujarat celebrated their ‘statehood day’ on 1May, 2022.
  4. Ayushman Bharat Diwas is celebrated on 30th April of every year across the country as a part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.
  5. Sir David Attenborough has been officially recognized as a ‘Champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
  6. Leading structural biologist M. Vijayan, who laid the foundat ions of protein crystallography in India, passed away in April 2022.

  16.  ‘Leaders, Politicians, Citizens: Fifty Figures Who Influenced India’s Politics’ authored by author-Journalist Rasheed Kidwai compiles stories of 50 personalities who influenced India’s political landscape.
